Yale and Trail

Stratford to West Hartford

Rode along the coast today until we got to New Haven. It was a cool, grey morning. Perfect riding weather.

Claudia OwenI went to Clint's cousin's graduation at Yale. Clint was at sea, so went on my own and met his Aunt Rita there. Great experience.

John PescatoreGlad you guys have had good success with the ECG from Maryland. You are now entering my old stomping grounds from college at UCONN in Storrs. Willimantic had once been the thread capital of the US, but had fallen into very hard times in the late 70's when I was at UCONN, but had the closest McDonalds back in those days!

Putnam/Woodstock is where my girlfriend's family lived and I used her father as a reference in my job applications, not knowing that the dirt road they lived on had no real name and they all just called in Oak Street and made up numbers. When the government sent the background investigator out there and the address didn't exist, I had to be interviewed, swear an affidavit, all kinds of problems!

But, that area is what spoiled me on ever living in an urban environment again! Providence is a very cool city if you get to spend some down time there, especially at night when they have the "Night Fires" on the water, which I think start after Memorial Day - try to catch that.

I hope the cycling is great!
