Newburyport, MA to Portsmith, NH

Hazel was our AirBnB host. She is still recovering from surgery.

This was at Chris's house. He sent it to me.

Apparently Newburyport was not doing well in the 80s but it is a bustling town now.

Bill stopped to talk and give us some history. He runs a tour boat.

We are riding along the coast all day today

Salisbury. It's still early in the year and it was quiet here.

We sat and had a snack at the Odiorne Salt Marsh picnic area

This is a Federal Prison. It was closed after the Vietnam war. A developer finally decided to do some thing with it and six months after work started, he dropped with a heart attack. The building sits empty.

martin oldfordJoey and I are in the Upper Peninsula now near Calumet so if you come this way let us know. Just cycled in Ontario before getting here. You folks are doing well on your tour. Safe travels Janet.

We are cycling in Ontario now! We will be in Michigan by Friday. Looks like we will be riding straight across Michigan to the ferry across the Lake and then across Wisconsin. The goal is to get to Lolo Pass before the snow! If we keep heading west we should be fine. Janet

Marty OldfordAssume that you are crossing the Blue Water bridge at Sarnia over to Port Huron. Do not cross at Windsor please. I cycled in Ontario last month and it was just beautiful. Followed a bike trail along the Grand River near Brantford. If you change your route after departing the Ludington ferry Joey and I are waiting for you in the U.P. Its really perfect her now for cycling. Safe travels to all.

We are taking the Walpole Island Ferry over to Algonac, Michigan tomorrow! We had a great time in Ontario. Right now we are relaxing in the shade of a back yard in Ridgetown after a very nice lunch! Give Joey a scritch for us! Janet
