Day 6 - West of Pritchett Colorado to Pritchett Colorado

Today started out cool, cloudy, and drizzling. By the time breakfast was over and we traveled back to where the bicycles had stopped yesterday, the sun had come out. Jerrell and James both had to fix flats before they actually started rolling. The good part about today is, it's a beautiful, cool, sunny day. The not so good part was a direct east wind-towards the end of the day-the very direction the bikers were going. Jeanette and I hop scotched with the bikers, ten miles at a time. You will see in the pictures the scenery changed from rolling with scrub bushes, to vast ranch lands. It is big country with low population. Bicyclists will always find the restaurants, motels, and local folks that one will not find when driving cars in these areas. This is such a rich experience! By the time the Biker's reached Pritchett, they were tired and chilly. Total miles were 62.06.

Jeanna & Kerry SmithYou're right- traveling by bicycle is a much richer experience than traveling by car. We have made friends with people we've met while bike touring or just riding around at home. I don't think we've ever become friends with someone we met on a car trip.

Andrew CarsonOne!!!!! Count them - one!!!! Today, amongst all the love song pictures of the western sky and land, amongst all the pictures of one of my favorite bikes (mine was yellow too!), we have the first and so far only pictures of our travellers! Hi Jerrell! Hi brother. Hi ladies! My friend Kelly pointed me to your journal and trip, and I'll read and watch on with interest. Miles of smiles and safe travel to you all! ADC
