Day 19 - Bright

The Red Stag and Emu Farm

The scheduled ride for today was to go back up to  Mt Hotham but after 2 days of climbing I decided to pass and do an easier ride in the warmth of the lower levels.  I was joined by 4 others and we rode to a deer and emu farm that also had a lovely restaurant.  Only the heartiest of our group took on the challenge of the climb that was another very long, tough climb back up to Mt Hotham where I photographed my bike in the snow.  We, on the other hand, had a lovely “noodle” ride and enjoyed a great lunch with wine.  We had a charcuterie tray to start with sausages made of emu, venison and kangaroo.  We also had potato wedges with the tray.  Ron had an emu burger while a venison pizza was shared.  After lunch that included 2 glasses of wine we stayed on the rail trail back to Bright.  Tomorrow we are back on the road for our last 2 rides of the tour.

A field of Ibis.

Another goat that I called Murphy and if my dog Murphy does not start behaving he can be replaced by a goat.

Gail JohnsonNot only will the goat behave, but will keep the grass trimmed as well! Hmmm, might be a good option. 😜
