An intial section of the Lago Puelo route to Chile is basically an old horse/cart track.

Then there's much forest trail.

The way is well marked with little "Gendemaria" wooded signs pointing the way, nevertheless I took a wrong turn here and had to be careful, dismounting and pushing the bike along this narrow ledge only to come to a deadend, and returning to find the right way.

I think the Mapuche (native Americans) have intergrated into modern society.

I enjoyed this while it lasted. The next day would be almost all unrideable, with much portaging, ie, unloading the bike and carrying the bags ahead to deposite, then returning for the bike. Much of the way would be a very precarious horse trail that clammered up over steep rock outcrops.
