Day 40 - Flat and straight

I am now in western Kansas. The topography is flat with very few trees. I can see for miles to my left and right with some wheat, corn, and wide open high plains

Steve ClarkThe true cattleman, cowboy, or stockman of the west would highly value a calf, and be determined to rescue a stray because he saw the future value in it instead of the nuisance. I love this statue because it points directly towards that protective characteristic.

jan kinnerI bicycled from Pueblo CO to Kansas City last year. I encountered wicked headwinds - one day 18 mph for hours. I hope you have the tailwinds I never did! When you hit Colorado make sure to stop at Lynette's Sugar City Cafe in Sugar City for a slice of pie.
