Nussdorf

No navigational problems

The heat continues so we were away before 8am. We have been having a bit of a problem with finding accommodation at an appropriate distance. This meant that todays occommodation was out to the side and probably not as far as we would have liked but it was a bed under weary bodies

It is coolish riding through the forest

The way out of Amarang is steep and it gave Ken a good work out, I am lucky to be protected by my electric bike, though I was using a fair bit of power.  Today we had mounted my phone with its route directions on my handle bars, as we should have done previously, so naturally we had no problems of all with navigation

This is a wonderful holiday area and when we got down to the Chiemsee there was lots of water fun going on.  People were dipping their bodies in the cool water, there were cyclists zooming along the cycle tracks beside the lake and yatchs were gliding along looking elegant.  As we first hit the lake we stopped at a very upmarket hotel/restaurant for a coffee but in our smelly cycle clothes we seemed to have become invisible so we pressed on. The beer garden in the camping ground was much more accommodating and we drank our coffee watching the business of campers immersed in domesticity

We turned from the lake into pleasant farming country and despite all our dawdling we were here shortly after 11am.  Then the fun began, I found someone in charge and told her we had a reservation - she gave me a glass of water and went away.  After some time I hunted her down and showed her the reservation on my phone.  In great confusion she hunted through a large book and I think she declared there wasn’t a reservation.  Knowing there were no other possibilities within about 20km and becoming aware of the rising temperatures I began to get rather anxious. But then she found us a room, we had a beer.  Ken likes this place it is a Historic Wurst House so I know what he will be having for dinner

Keith ClassenThat beer looks rather small for all that heat. But you can always order another and another! Hope it cools off soon for you two.
