Lift off - Munich to Paris the Long Way Round - CycleBlaze

Lift off

Our long flight didn’t leave until 8.30pm so we had plenty of time before our 5 pm pick up

Last night seeking last minute inspiration I watch the exciting stage of the Tour de France which ended on the Col de Tourmalet.  The power and fitness of these riders is astounding.  It didn’t end until 3.30am which was a good thing as it meant I slept until late with the hope of starting to attack jet lag

We really had very little to do but Ken wanted to go out ti his block to say goodby to his tractors and  his cattle

Ken took them some hay but they are not very interested as there is so much grass at the moment

After that it was time for our last grind up and down Razorback Rd.  We are very fortunate as we have friends staying in the house while we are away which is so much better for Lucy and Bernie.  He has been very suspicious of the bags the last couple of days and making sure he doesn’t let me out of his sight.  They arrived in good time and we were just settling down to have a coffee when our transport arrived, an hour early.  So here we are in the lounge with two and a half hours until our flight goes - next stop Dubai a flight of over 17hours

Kathleen ClassenA seventeen hour flight is a very, very long flight. I am sending sleepy wishes your way hoping you get some rest on-board. Safe travels.

Tricia GrahamThank you Kathleen. We are now safely in Munich trying to adjust to European time. Our total time with the two flights was 28hours from lift off in Auckland to landing here but we did sleep on the long leg from Auckland to Dubai
