Ken Writes

It was easy getting back on the river bank.  The day was a bit cloudy and not nearly as hot as the last two, in fact we had one or two light showers- never enough to put on a coat

Although it was an easy day we seemed to have trouble staying on the route and at one stage were several km off it. As usual google came to the rescue.  There was one coffee stop at San Danielle where the church is dedicated to Daniel with his lions.  There was a long narrow track shown on the map as unsealed but in the end was firm and easy

The gates of Caselmaggiori. - we never did see the town as our hotel was way out in the industrial area

From a 10km away we could see the tower of Cremona  Google lead us in on the way passing a large bike shop where Tricia got some new bike pants.  The surprising thing about the centre was how empty it was as we came in

This is a fairly old 2 cylinder Fiat - ken didn’t know they made a 2cylindar one

The bust of Claudio Montiverdi

While searching for the hotel we came across the bust of Claudio Monteverdi who was a music student here and the grave of Antonio Stradivarius. The violin museum is closed today and we did consider staying another day but have decided to push on to Piacenza which we went through on the way to Rome about 10years ago

We had a beer and snack when we unloaded and I have done a big wash up. The Duomo, like most things on a Monday is closed

Today's ride: 59 km (37 miles)
Total: 930 km (578 miles)
