Tunnel Hill Trail With Jeff Teel

First 100 km ride of the year!

I drove over to Harrisburg, Illinois early this morning to meet up and ride with Jeff Teel, who is currently on his Downstate Illinois tour.

I rode with Jeff from Harrisburg to Vienna on the Tunnel Hill Trail, where we had a nice lunch at a Mexican Restaurant (although I think Jeff would have preferred a diner instead, he kindly humored me, and also picked up the tab over my mild objections.) Then I turned around and retraced my route on the trail back to my car in Harrisburg.

This was a very enjoyable ride. I'd never ridden any of the Tunnel Hill Trail, somehow, despite living in Illinois for six years.

It was great meeting Jeff, whose journals I've enjoyed for years.
