Alfriston - The seventh step ... London to Edinburgh via Land's End and John o'Groats - CycleBlaze

Alfriston

We had a leisurely start to the morning and got going a bit later than we had hoped.  First of all down the steep hill into Hastings and on to the beach front via the old town.  Our campsite was on National Cycle Route 2 so we simply carried on cycling on it today.  It wasn't particularly exciting once through Hastings but eventually we ended up on some lovely country lanes giving us some wonderful, mostly flat cycling.

Notice on an old house in Hastings.

Soon after midday we started to feel peckish and the bananas we had picked up at a Tesco at Bexhill wasn't quite doing the job.  So we looked up closest grocery store, which was in Alfriston, and headed in that direction.  The village also had a campsite so that's where we called it a day after picking up supplies in the village.  All in all a gentle and relaxing day without any major hills to work us over.

Our (initially) empty campsite.
