Nagasaki rest (16-17 March) - Japan, Kyushu — testing the waters - CycleBlaze

March 16, 2024 to March 17, 2024

Nagasaki rest (16-17 March)

spent a day and two nights in Nagasaki.

Had delicious Chawanmushi in the central area.

Also visited to the big church on top of the hill and the HSBC museum (former HSBC bank building) which gives the recent history of Nagasaki from the perspective of trade and banking. I learnt about Shōkichi Umeya’s relationship with Sun Yat-sen, the former bankrolling the latter’s efforts to bring about revolution, which, according to the museum, was motivated by his desire to install a regime in China that could withstand western imperialism (unfortunately didn’t take a picture of the pamphlet to upload here).
