Best route in Romania
Bucharest to Cluj-Napoca
Cycling from Bucharest to Turda was excellent. I was on quiet, paved roads most of the time. It never felt like I was doing unnecessary detours.
The views of the Transfăgărășan pass were spectacular. There were no trucks.
And there were plenty of unusual traffic: A couple having their wedding photos taken in the middle of the road, professional photographers filming from the back of moving SUV, even sheep and debris from a recent rock slide. All this made the drivers more patient with us cyclists.
