O'Smach to Surin

We were through the border soon afetr seven o'clock in wonderfully cool conditions. The roads on the Thai side were in noticeably better condition that on the Cambodian side and with the slight downhill and lack of wind we had a very easy ride to Surin.

Up until Prasat cycling was an absolute pleasure but for the last thirty kilometers we shared the road with lots of eighteen wheelers. Tomorrow we will look for quieter roads to take us to Phanom Rung.

We're staying at the Maneerote Hotel in Surin where a number of CGOABikers have done before. Pretty good value for money at 450 baht and the restaurant is a worthwhile option if you're feeling lazy. The market is 400 meters away so there are lots of options for food. Asking for "Thai Spicy" proved a bit much for Leigh after two months of less chillis than usual so she had to wuss out and leave some of the chillis on her plate. I'm sure she'll be back to hellfire normal in a day or two.
