Last day on Le Petit Train du Nord - Fall Colours - CycleBlaze

Last day on Le Petit Train du Nord

Today we finished our ride on Le Petit Train du Nord. It was an absolutely beautiful fall day and I finally saw the fall colours that I had hoped to see. The trail is an amazing ride especially this time of year and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a beautiful ride. It is best ridden on a cycle cross bike with 32 tires or a hybrid or mountain bike. We did see people on road bikes but I wouldn't do that unless I had 28 tires and didn't care about my bike. The fall colours were finally in full bloom which is hard to imagine given that everything was green when we arrived only 10 days ago. We started the day with an amazing breakfast at our B&B in St Jovite that was right beside the trail. Today there were so many beautiful sights that we were stopping every few kms to take photos.

Patti's breakfast was a galette with apples, maple syrup and Brie cheese.

My breakfast was a bed of finely sliced vegetables with cheese and some sausage pieces with 2 poached eggs on top. Of course there was home made bread and jam as well.

There are several of these old train stations along the way that have been converted to cafés, museums or even a bike/cross country ski shop.

Look closely on the left there is a blue building that is a warming hut for cross country skiers in the winter.
