Day 1-a loop ride into Vermont & back

Today we rode 94km/59mi and climbed 3560 ft. It was supposed to be an 85 km ride but with a little WAA time (wandering around aimlessly) we had a few extra km. The weather was perfect & the leaves are starting to change. This is rural Quebec and Vermont where farming of some sort is the main industry. The roads were amazingly good to my surprise and there was very little traffic. The hills were not big bit there were lots of them. We hit double digit climbs at least 6 times. Not sure what is up for tomorrow but the weather looks good.

This is an amazing bike friendly area with many routes plus the roads are in very good condition.

Apple country. I stopped to ask this woman in my very bad French if I could buy 2 apples. Instead she have me 4 amazingly tasty MacInstosh apples that we shared with fellow riders.

Ice apple cider. This is a dessert wine not unlike ice wine that is very tasty. We may go back to buy some before we leave.

This is a huge dairy farm in Vermont, I did say this was a rural area. This one is for Steve Scott.

Cyclists are well respected here. The recommended distance between cars and bikes is 1.5m or 4ft or 2 arms lengths.
