Day 10: Caudrot to Clairac: Lateral canal to the Garonne

Track 02 LC 58 km

Easy no rain, except during the meal under the platanes. 63 km, steep road from Tonneins to the castle, our bed & breakfast.

This canal in between the two seas, links the Atlantic coast to the Méditerranean sea coast is composed of Canal du Midi, 241 km long with 63 locks and Lateral canal to the Garonne,193 km long with 53 locks.

We are only biking on and the Lateral canal to the Garonne, it’s been started in 1838 and achieved in 1856 in order to solve naviguation problems between Toulouse and Bordeaux.
