Flat, sunny, and boring. Good.: From home to Cluny

No pictures today. The camera battery is dead because I forgot to check it before I left. Thr route was easy, south to Chagny on minor roads, canal path to Fontaines, more back roads to Givry where I had lunch in a local bistro, then the rail trail to Cluny. I got a cheapish hotel, showered and took a nap, then went out for pizza. Early evening.

Cluny is the town of "used to be". There's a road running through what used to be the largest church in the western world, and only lines traced on the ground and a few column bases and wall remnants are there to remind one of the magnificence of the ancient abbey. The revolution put paid to the monks, and the church was sold as a rock quarry. Much of what survived was bombed by the American Air Force during the liberation.

Today's ride: 124 km (77 miles)
Total: 124 km (77 miles)
