Waiting out the rain in Oldenburg

A shopping sucess

The weather forecast today was terrible, rain all day. Not only did we wake to rain but Ken also had a cold.  We went down to breakfast with Robyn and Bruce and it wasn’t a hard decision for us to book in for another night and hope it is a little better tomorrow

The loss of my crutch has been a major as without it I really cant  walk far at all but with it and a stick in my other hand I am quite good.  Google had found us an orthopaedic supply shop nearby. It was run by two lovely ladies and in no time I had a beautiful new blue crutch. This is going to make so much difference to how the trip continues. Just have to work out how to attach it to the bike

Now I am mobile again

A celebration over a cup of coffee at a lovely Backerie and we were back to room to watch the rain and read our books

By the afternoon the rain had eased a little so in we went to the beautiful city centre. What a difference it takes when no cars  are allowed.  Bikes also must be pushed through and not ridden.  It makes everything feel so relaxed - I love city centres like this - everyone always appears so relaxed

We have been thinking of Robyn and Bruce and hoping they didn’t get too soaked on their way to Leer.
