Amsterdam the end of our life of luxury

We arrived in Amsterdam this morning and this of course was our final destination. Neither of us have been here before and the city has delighted us. This morning wa a tour of the canals

All the boats taking you on a canal trip are electric which leads to a wonderfully peaceful ride

The busy main harbour area is alive with movement

I love these old houses along the canals

This afternoon was a bus trip out of Amsterdam where symbols so typical of the Netherlands are preserved It really is a wonderful outdoor museum with five fully working windmills, a clog factory, a cheese factory, the cutest of houses and much more

Inside a fully working mill which is making paint for artists

So that is it for our life of luxury tomorrow we disembark after breakfast and thoughts turn to cycling. We have booked a hotel near the station, will sort out what we dont need for biking and book train tickets to Bremen for the next morning. The real adventure then begins

Carolyn van HoeveYour cruise sounded wonderful! And now for the real adventure. We have booked tickets to Frankfurt in September and cycling to France via Germany & Belgium. I’ll look forward to reading about your bike buying exercise as I’m just in the process of looking for second hand bikes in Frankfurt!
