A day of organisation

The most important 4km of the tour

We ate at a charming restaurant last night. The servings were enormous, we had forgotten to us the word klien

Ken was off exploring early this morning. He ventured into the Old Town

A rather lovely old windmill

Th e Musicians of Bremen the Brothers Grim story that helps draw people here. At this time in the morning you could view it without crowds

And now for a more serious part of the day.  The first Post office had been closed down but we found one.  It was rather fun the attendant spoke not a word of English (our german is terrible and seems to have deserted us completely) and he was unsure there was a country called New Zealand. However with great good humour all the other customers joined in.  The result is I hope 2kg of excess on a slow boat th New Zealand or perhaps somewhere else in the world

2kg mailed home

At 2 o’clock we were back at BOC. Our man was waiting for us and we tried everything out except for Kens lock.  I was delighted to find how easily I could attach my mobility aids to the back rack of my bike it is going to make life so much easier for me. With trepidation we were off.  Could I actually ride this bike?  The answer of course was yes. It’s a delight to ride the weather had even improved and we spun along pretending we were locals.  I was singing “I’m So Happy” in my head. In no time we were back to the hotel and the bikes up in the room.  Only one small problem we had been given the wrong key for Kens lock so off he is to solve the problem. Well that didn’t work I was beginning to get a bit worried. He had been away for ages then back he got. He had ridden for ages  but never found the way back to BOC - we can buy a new lock.

Off we go!

After today we feel much more confident that things will work out   Tomorrow we ride to Wildeshausen which is only a short ride of about 40km. The weather doesn’t look fantastic but it should be OK

Today's ride: 4 km (2 miles)
Total: 4 km (2 miles)
