Day 3. Let the camping continue. (WAIT! SCRATCH THAT! incoming thunderstorms! Hotel time!)
“Hello, Hampton Inn?”
5:00am I hear a car drive into the lot. The door opens driver walks around, then departs doing naught. 20 minutes later a second car arrives and its headlights shine into my tent; I hear the driver get out and the porta potty door slam and know full well his intent. Does he not have a bathroom inside of his home or did his family use all the facilities and forced him to roam? The driver used the facilities and departed like a champ, and that was the moment I felt it was time for me to break camp.

40 minutes into the ride, the weather begins to crumble as in the background I hear the thunder in the sky rumble. So far today the trail has been dry, but I don’t think that will last when I look at the dark sky.

For breakfast this morning, I’d have to ride far - 27 miles on just eating a campsite Clif bar. The best breakfast to be had was in the next town. I would get a BG breakfast melt at the coffee shop Broken Ground.

The next trail connection went through 25 miles of farmland. It was up up up, down down down that I all experienced first hand. The sky looked iffy and the wind blew hard. It forced me to check the forecast. I thought to myself isn’t going to rain again or are the dry conditions going to last? Twice more rain fell although not a downpour and when the precipitation finished, the sun came out once more.

instead of camping, I booked a hotel and began to grin tonight would be nice and dry sleeping in the Hampton Inn. And another bonus to seal the deal tomorrow would be a free breakfast meal. I booked two queen beds and in case you’re in doubt one for me to sleep in and the other for my tent to dry out. I asked during check-in if they had a laundry, they said they didn’t which left me in a quandary. So I did a quick shower laundry if you want to know and I’ll use the washing machine at the hotel tomorrow.
Today's ride: 67 miles (108 km)
Total: 210 miles (338 km)
