Last night it was all about the flies.

Today was ok in the am and not so much later on. Combination of morning back roads and not much wind. Later on head wind and Rte 23. That's ok.

One thing that stands out about traveling like this is of course you're out of the regular routine. And even with a new routine there are new things every day. Days seem so much more full, even if it's almost all bicycling. New views, towns, occasionally people of note. I'm having a good time. Okay, I do miss Tina, the cats and kayaking, etc...

So for the last few days there has been the unfortunate aroma of dead carcass penetrating the air.  Mostly deer and secondly raccoon. This is, kind of ironically interspersed with the sweet smell of honeysuckle.

Okay, this need to be addressed. Bay City is NOT the home of the 1970's glam boy band, the Bay City Rollers. But mercy (as in the hospital she was born in) me if Madonna wasn't born there. Depending on time, etc, I may try to get back to Bay City this trip.

The mark of the tent after a light rain.

This light house was used, in conjunction with another, to allow ships to line up the lights to enter the the harbor safely.

One of the many Rogers City parks. Pretty good sized chess game by the gazebo.

Yeah, kind of quiet in the campground.

Up close, but not personal, with one of those flys that like my tent fly ( wow is that ironic?) so much.

Jamie DolanI don't think they are. These guys were quite small. Smaller then a deer fly and certainly smaller then a horse fly and they didn't bite. If you have other ideas please let me know.
