No more Netherlands rain nor wind…

Just home 🫣

Hello again Cycle Blazers!

I have returned from 4 weeks of riding a bike in mostly rain, wind, and some sun. I already miss the friendly “hallo” and courtesy a cyclist is shown in this country. Not to mention the ease of riding a bike where despite the fact it is the (seemingly) most popular method of transportation, it all flows so well!

I will be posting photos here for everyone’s enjoyment of what I was so fortunate to experience, despite the weather hardships.

Unfortunately most ( if not all) of my photos are non bicycle related.  Before I create another journal entry, I would like to know if anyone is even interested in more “random photos” from my trip.  Thank you for your considerations!

Bill ShaneyfeltTo Karen PoretWhen I was a kid, our uncle was an Army officer stationed in Germany, and they sent us a cuckoo clock for Christmas. Then in the mid-70s, I worked there in Civil Service and we bought them for Christmas gifts! So, not really surprising.

Bill ShaneyfeltTo Karen PoretWhen I was really little, my mom had me out in the garden with her and showed me lots of stuff. By age 3 I was catching night crawlers, getting poison ivy, catching tomato worm caterpillars, eating mulberries off trees I climbed, so really she's the one that got me started.

Now you can catch fireflies since you live in Ohio. That’s something I have never seen, but my Mom, hailing from Dayton told me about this..

Street cleaning in the cities are a marvel. Workers walk ahead of the machine with a broom and sweep the debris towards the rotating heads for clean up.

Steve Miller/GrampiesThere is so much more to a blog of a cycle trip than "we woke up, rode the bike, got to the end of the day, slept, repeat". For us, anyway, we love to read about the adventures, experiences, what was seen, and so on, whether on or off the bikes. Keep telling us about your trip in total, and show us the pictures you took. It is always fun to glimpse the world as seen through someone else's eyes.
