A Day in Paris
From our time riding in Normandy Ken and I love galletes and cider. By 6pm we were both really feeling the effects of our long flight so we went to a creperie near by - it was a quick and very early meal as we both keen to get our heads down. I think I must have been asleep within a minute of my head touching the pillow. Much to our suprise it was not until about seven that we awoke and we both feel that jet lag is not going to be a problem
We found a cafe nearby where we could have breakfast, look out at Notre Dame and watch the cyclists on their start of the day. The cycling culture is certainly impressing us and there were large numbers obviously on their way to work in their office clothes. I have developed very unpleasant conjunctivitis in one eye. It’s never hard to find a pharmacy in France and I got excellent advice. Then Ken found an optician who mended his glasses while he (the optician) was on the phone - no charge. Everything fixed with no effort
Today we were doing something I had been really looking forward to, we were meeting Susan Carpenter for lunch. I have been following Susans adventures on Cycleblaze ever since she started to cycle tour. I have always enjoyed her journals respecting the way she is so sensitive to the culture of the places she travels through. The meeting didn’t disappoint and after lunch we retired to nearby park to continue our conversation
A quick rest and we had a wander around the Isle de Cite before it was time to once more have galettes for dinner
