Day 3 - Lichtenstein and Austria

Detours

Today was a planned long day but it became even longer due to construction leading to some back tracking and detours.  It was long but fairly flat with only 1500’ of climbing over 100+km and most of it in one spot.  It rained hard last night but stopped before our departure, nonetheless the roads were wet so we got pretty wet and dirty.  There was a short shower at one point but neither Patti nor I put on our rain coats.    We were actually thankful because the temperatures were much more to our liking.  We also had 5-6 sections of gravel but not long nor difficult.  We took a short detour into Lichtenstein just because we could and later we crossed into Austria where we are tonight in Bregenz.

Today’s ride.

As our ride came to an end we saw lots of these black and white storks in the freshly mowed farmers fields.
