Day 11 - Happy Canada Day from Germany

Today is Canada Day so it is a day to celebrate for Canadians.  We left Karlsruhe to ride to Ludwigshafen which is on the other side of the river from Mannheim.  We started with a lovely 8km ride through the forest on what was likely the estate of the castle.  It was a great way to start and we ended the day the same way.  Along the way we found a lovely bakery for a quick stop and an apple turnover.  Just after our stop we came across what I would call a stork nursery.  There were at least 12 trees with nests on them, each with chicks in them.  We also stopped in Speyer for a quick visit.  Lastly we had a short ferry crossing to reach our destination.

Mr Murphy wishes everyone a Happy Canada Day.
