Marulan

We were up before sunrise and after a quick cup of coffee  (for me) and (chai for Leigh) we hopped on the bicycles to explore a bit of Morton National Park.

The just rising while we were at the Grand Canyon viewpoint.

While at the viewpoint we were entertained by a Superb Lyrebird (Menura novaehollandiae) calling from nearby. Unfortunately we never managed to find it.

Eastern Spinebill (Acanthorhynchus tenuirostris). Cloudy skies have made birding challenging for old eyes.

Our first Eastern Grey Kangaroo (Macropus giganteus).

Another group of about eight feeding in the day visitors picnic area.

Another undulating ride took us to Marulan via Tallong, where we stopped to have a decko at the Big Apple, having missed the Big Potato in Robertson due to our change of route.

The closest I'll probably get to the Big Apple.

We have a room in a very pleasant guesthouse.   We've had our laundry done and enjoyed  a good shower.  A storm is brewing outside so it is a good night not to be camping.   Also, I won't have to sleep on a flat mattress tonight.

Today's ride: 40 km (25 miles)
Total: 294 km (183 miles)
