Sound great Robyn - hope to take you up on that!
I've been doing a bit of research about bike storage in Europe and stumbled onto a place that stores motorbikes in Germany for people coming from our part of the world. I had a very friendly response that they would be happy to also store bicycles for a charge of about 15 euros per bike, with a B&B onsite and free transfer to Frankfurt Airport. If you're interested here is the link but perhaps you might be able to have a long term arrangement with your friend in Switzerland.

We're quite keen to get electric bikes so this would be an ideal solution for us as they also able to charge the batteries every now and then.

Hi Robyn, seems like I stumbled onto something with the motorbike storage. I had a response from Lobagola Tours (the other website address I gave you) and they are located in Zagreb. Also a very friendly response and happy to store bikes, though yet to get a costing. Another place in Tours, contact@ride-in-tours.com, which would be great for access to Paris CDG, also came back to me with a costing of 10 euro's per month (not sure one or both bikes, either way it's very reasonable). Would be great to get a small directory so no need to have to circle back to start!

Hi again Carolyn

I've made a little chart with those 3 storage companies. You could contact me on robyn.richards6@gmail.com ,  if interested, and I could send you a copy?

Cheers

Hi Robyn,

I have another one! This one in Malaga so handy if ending the tour in Southern Spain. It's a car rental place ...
https://marbellarentacar.es/
maria.moreno@marbellarentacar.es
Their costing is €275 for 6 months and €500 for 12 months (need to confirm whether that's for one or both bikes.

Dooby from Lobagola Tours came back with a costing of €25 monthly price per bicycle , 6 months €100 and yearly storage €150. Price includes constant battery trickle charging, airing the tires 2 times per month, insurance against fire/theft/damage.

If I come up with any more I'll let you know and hope this info is useful for other people. Maybe I should start a new thread with 'bike storage' so it's easy to find? Meanwhile omicron is spreading. I'm just really hoping this is a very mild variant the eliminates delta and potentially ending the worst of the pandemic. Fingers crossed.

When are you going on the great taste trail? Hope you do a journal!

I'll add it to my list! We don't need charging but that's a v good option for ebikes. Yes, fingers crossed this variant has a better outcome. Delta now in Nelson, a bit close to home :(

We did the trail last week and journal is up! We seem to have left Nelson at the right time ...
