Casey's breakfast pizza!! We ate a lot of C-store food while touring during COVID and it was our best discovery.
1 year agoI have an old OMD poster that I am going to frame one of these days. I will text you a picture of it. I like Chicken Train.
1 year agoI think they are saying they like America and they like the South. I believe most people associate the flag with the South today, not the South 160 years ago. But then that is just my take on it.

1 year ago1. I'm impressed you have access to these old photos and even more impressed you can find them.
2. Those look like miserable working conditions. Been there and done that and thankful that I will never have to do it again. Retirement is good.
Or maybe thanks to Biden more people are coming to the club and the girls are getting tired, so they need more girls to satisfy the growing (no pun intended) clientele. Probably not. Dang George, your weird thinking is messing up my thinking. Next thing I know I will be talking to my discs while golfing. Oh crap, I already do that. Nevermind.
1 year agoVery cool
1 year agoI had a Minolta myself, I think it was a 101. We take way to many pictures today and do nothing with them. Maybe our kids will go through our computers when we split and look at all the pictures, probably not. That sounds like the makings of a good John Prine song.
1 year agoThanks bro!
1 year agoAgree, that should never happen.
1 year agoIt is weird when any woman calls me sugar or darling but especially when they are younger than my daughters. Just stop please.
1 year agoIf you reslly want to figure out if the KKK's values represent Christianity, I suggest you read the New Testament and see if they are compatible, instead of what someone with an agenda writes. I don't put much value in someone's opinion that knows nothing about their subject.
1 year agoI saw a lot of stuff from the early part of your journal that was familiar to me from my Mississippi River tour. I even stayed in the same Holiday Inn near the New Orleans airport, and I rode backwards to explore the city like you did. On my tour, I stayed on the east side of the river all the way to Muscatine (except for quick overnight excursions to Cape Girardeau and St. Louis) so it's been interesting to read about your hilly ride on the west side. Now that you've crossed back into Illinois, I clearly remember that huge mansion outside of Warsaw, but I didn't bother to learn more about it as you did. I just assumed it was the home of some rich guy.
Like you, I thought Nauvoo was really interesting. I camped at the state park there, but had I known about the Mormon cabins, I'd have considered staying there. Did you venture into Joseph Smith's well-preserved village? Most notable to me was that they've whitewashed his polygamist history.
Enjoy the rest of your trip.
I've seen 18 deer from my stand in Southern Arkansas while reading your journal this morning. I'm way behind.

I agree about the breakfast pizza! I've also found that some C-stores make lunch or dinner foods including sides that certainly beat eating "junk food."
