J says: What the?! That is hilarious Joe!
10 months agoHi,
Chanvre, as we call cannabis, was once a major crop in France. The fibers were used for everything from rope to textiles. It’s enjoying something of a comeback, mostly due to its utility in eco-friendly construction, where it’s used to reinforce lime plaster, but also as a source of cannabis oils which are touted as natural tonics. There’s a museum dedicated to its historical uses close by us that goes into the whole saga.
Cheers,
Keith
Nice shot!

10 months agoOooh goody. Will await your itinerary eagerly. We know our full trajectory so will look to see if and when they may intersect.
10 months agoWell that would be a hoot, wouldn’t it? It’s possible, because we’re starting out by following the coast south from Hook of Holland to the mouth of the Seine - at a leisurely pace of course. I’ll send you an email with our itinerary so we can see if anything lines up.

10 months agoPrice might have an effect. "Exotic" mushrooms are two or three (or more) times the price of the standard white or brown ones here in Vancouver.
10 months agoThey are so pretty aren't they. Where will you be in France? We will be heading north to the coast and then east to Belgium. May be a chance to cross paths somewhere?
10 months agoWow, what a gorgeous insect. I didn’t know these were found in France. We’ll have to keep our eyes out when we get there next week.
10 months agoYou got great smiles and laughs from the kids, but Steve was less enthused. Dodie
10 months agoNo offense intended, Steve, but I'm sure going to miss the grandkids' comments and pictures after you move on without them. I think they (especially Joe) have the potential to be Cycleblaze superstars in a decade or so.
10 months agoWe aim to please.
