OK, I found this 2024 RWGPS version from you. I wonder where I got that other route?
5 months agoYes, Etch a Sketch clearly made our routing software!
7 months agoThat's about how good I was with and Etch A Sketch.
7 months agoOh I missed this page somehow. That's why I sent you the email asking about your Costa Rica journal. Al and I have enjoyed reading your blogposts so far and look forward to following along on your trip.
8 months agoI am already “tired from the trip” just reading about it! You both are simply amazing! You undoubtedly have some “help from above” with your Joni angel.
8 months agoMaybe you could put a link to your birding blog in your profile here on CB as well.
8 months agoLooking forward to seeing you in 2025!
8 months agoThanks for the costs…Quite interesting… Hope you both are glad to be at home for a bit and join your family again..minus ( but plus from “above”) with Joni. ❤️
8 months agoDefinitely a good method!
8 months agoThanks for the reminder. We’re never transferring at DeGaulle again if we can help it. And thanks for the journal! I’ll be interested to see Costa Rica, and to see what the Albufera looks like when you’re back in the spring.
8 months agoI'm glad to hear you made it home safely, with just enough uncertainty to make a good story. I've enjoyed following along.
8 months agoYes, though we did see evidence all round, like muddy volunteers and distraught Queen on TV
8 months agoGood thing you’re already on a plane and away - and leaving from Valencia too and not trying to fly out of BCN where there is now flooding at El Prat! It does seem you skirted disaster all round. Must be very disconcerting indeed to see news and pictures of catastrophe so close by but see normalcy when you look outside the window…
8 months agoI've used Blogspot for a few things over the years--including my first multi-week bike tour. I agree that it isn't conducive to a travel journal that reads like a book, but it works great for my cooking blog which reads more like a monthly magazine. I'll check out your Costa Rica blog and will be interested to see if you find a way to reverse the order of your posts.

We just rode this yesterday - I speculated about the type of apples we were seeing. Jacinto guessed Pink Lady, just because that's what we buy at home. But you also said Pink Lady - I presume with authority. Jacinto had a lucky guess.
1 month agoWe also saw the lettuce and the butternut squash, except we guessed cantaloupe - but I was confused on the cantaloupe, because that's grown in our area. What is said is the cantaloupe is so tasty because the days are hot and the nights are cool. Nights are not cool around here!
I came here to see if you walked the ramparts at Avignon. I failed myself here. We are in Avignon specifically to walk the ramparts. 4.5 km - I read on line and ask at the front desk about walking the ramparts. I was ready! Then so, so disappointed to find out that they are too dangerous. The only walkable section is the tiny piece next to the 5E bridge - which we do end up paying, but you were correct to give that a miss. It wasn't worth 5E.
It wasn't quite the fuss I made about going to see the flamingos, but we did come here special for the ramparts. I told Jacinto that was a bigger fail than the lost 200E . . . although he brought it up first, not me.
I'm enjoying reading your account again, now that I've been here myself, and not just imaging being there.
