Kelly Iniguez commented on Packing Up

I'm reading of a man who was on the Great Divide route, his crashed into a boulder, broke seven ribs, had to be airlifted, etc. End of story is his medical insurance didn't cover Canada, and he was out $34,000. That made me think of Dodie in Mexico. It also made me think of our upcoming trip, all of those cobblestones, what if I fall? What do you do for insurance while bicycle touring?

We immediately thought of you when we came accross these.

You big meanie! It does seem like it would have been a waste of perfectly good food though. Better as fruit salad.

Occasionally we have seen chicken in packages like in the picture. It is warm and probably good for a picnic later if it can be safely stored. I do not think we have seen many whole rotisserie chickens as is common in stores at home. Probably only the larger chains have this, like Continente, Aldi, etc.

Churrasco is a very good word to know. Jacinto is hoping we might find rotisserie chicken in the stores, to make a picnic with later. Any luck on that one?

My son did a high school physics class project where they had to build trebuchets and figure the trajectory of their objects. He and a friend spent considerable time after the project had officially ended, playing with their project. He was quite disappointed I did not want to buy cantaloupes to donate to their cause!

I"m all into cobblestones lately - the Andersons' journals have quite a few cobblestone photos - the pretty paver styles that make patterns - plus a couple of old fashioned rock ones just to keep me on my toes.

The 12% grade spot I couldn't find, Scott had a photo of, by Marvao - https://www.cycleblaze.com/journals/iberia2019/marvao-dd1/#18960_gxnlmwbgnekgcyi7yuagn9c4izb

Nice that it comes with a bike lane so you don’t have to hop the stairs.

In your post you talk about the Ken and Judy meetup, but also the bridge arches.
Also the hills, traffic, and cobbles hereabouts. I'm glad we are not the only ones to have noticed this.

Huh? I was just pointing out that we saw Ken and Judy there.

Maybe...

Just think, somewhere in the world someone is propagating these and distributing to nurseries. To them, these are old hat.

At a distance I had been hoping they were bee eaters. But cool. These are new for me.

You must be right about the arches. The ogives are surely not Roman.

I would not put my Oreos in this one, which seemed to lack the defensive stones.
