Hi Nancy,
Yes, it was very beautiful. For some reason, I like all kinds of extreme weather . . . as long as nobody gets hurt--especially me.
Yeah, that house over there does look like it was on fire.
3 years agoKeith, I will take your cross training advice under consideration. Thank you.
3 years agoMy word for the day, free of charge: piebald. After reading it for years and not remembering its meaning it finally stuck once I learned that it’s a derivative of magpie.
3 years agoSpotted Cow! I indulged in a few of those myself last summer.
3 years agoLooks like a wonderful cycling road. Très attrayant, if you get my drift.
3 years agoGonna sample Wisconsin Cheese Curds?
They don't sound very enticing to me.
I saw on the Weather Channel the storms in SW Wi -- and thought, Oh Boy! Greg is in for it. :(
The propane tank at the end of the first video and then the brightly lit house at the beginning of the second gave me pause!!
No worries about the timing. I anticipate there will be days when I've spent my entire allotment of time and energy just living, so I hold nobody else at fault ...
3 years agoGood job on the cheese, cheesy rider! Now, if you really, really, really need a BIG boost in Wisconsin, get yourself a loaf of delicious cheese bread.
As to the driftless area, I watched a fascinating PBS show about that part of Wisconsin a few months ago. I expect your two-wheeled investigation to be no less fascinating, plus you can feature more cheese.
Two hours of thunder and lightning storm had to be quite beautiful in a way, but that is way beyond my comfort zone when camping! yikes!
Am enjoying your blog and you usual comedic self ;’-).
I love a good train! Good being the operative word. British trains aren't great, most European ones are better, and American ones have a pretty bad reputation, don't they? I've never used one. Happy it worked out well for you. Sucks about the wind, good idea to duck out in my opinion!
3 years agoPerfectly framed!
3 years agoHi,
Only riding a tour is training for riding a tour. You’ll improve as you go.
You can add more obstacles to speed up your training. The 200 meter bike carry is always good for cross training. Or how about the loaded bike guardrail cross?
Don’t drink all the beer in WI.
Cheers,
Keith
Rich, they're actually not as bad as the name suggests.
