I really enjoyed reading about your travels. Having pedaled some of the same roads and even stayed in one of the same hotels you did on my last trip brought back some fond (and not so fond) memories.

Thanks Peter, I enjoyed reading about this trip. I’ve heard from others that the New York side is less than ideal, for all the reasons you discovered; shoulderless roads with quite a bit of traffic, lack of amenities, and not the most cooperative of drivers. And yes, Vermont gravel is the best. Highly recommend checking it out.
