Google guesses "Meadow thistle":

but doesn't include Spain in its native range. Could easily have been introduced, of course. I'm not particularly confident in my diagnosis but didn't find many other credible candidates in my ten minutes of dilatory searching.

It works well if you don’t sleep too long! The next day I took a nap Scott had to wake me up. I’m taking a decongestant because I’ve had a cough but am doing better now!

I thought so too. I was intrigued by the scrolls on the nearest plate, which are quite irregular and I don’t see a repeating pattern.
