That brings back some memories - in 2017 I stayed at Sargents, also in a tiny cabin - mine was on the opposite (east) side of the Trading Post from yours and it looks like it's a storage shed. I was riding the Western Express route with 2 others, and we met 2 couples riding the Great Divide route. It was challenging for us to ride up the road to Monarch Pass the next morning, but that's nothing compared to the difficulty of riding the gravel routes you ride to the passes. Enjoying your journal,

2 months agoHowdy Rosemary. I foolishly looked at a profile - I suddenly felt sick because the scale is “k”. Fortunately I know realise “k” doesn’t mean kilometres! Ha Ha. Hope you’re having fun. Love Stew
2 months agoPossibly bitter rubber weed. That said, in that area there are something around 100 yellow many petal wildflowers, and I am certainly no expert, so it is wide open to other IDs.

2 months agoFinally catching up on your adventures so far Rose… looks pretty flat so far, but Frank was looking at the profile for days ahead…! Happy peddling.
2 months agoI'm looking forward to following along on your adventure. I've done several road tours, but have never done an off-road trail tour such as the GDMBR. I'm not sure I have the ambition to accomplish the tour you are undertaking, so I'll use your experience to help me judge. Best of luck to you both!
2 months ago Rose,
When do you plan on being in Canmore? That’s where we live and we’ve hosted a ton of GDMBR riders over the years through Warm Showers. We would be happy to put you up for a few nights if we’re around. We are in Italy right now, heading to Croatia in a couple of days and we will be back home in Canmore on 6th July.
Plant. Horsetails. They make good camping pot scrubbers.
