Running into you and Al was a favorite memory of the trip. Plus, you kept me updated on the dairy. I still like glass bottle milk. I get it in Tucson. The actual is in Phoenix. IDK why the appeal is so big for me.

Thanks for following along.

Amber,

We would recommend a European bicycle ride. I have friends who just rented high end road bikes in one city, and returned them in another. E bikes are also a choice.

Even though the dollar is weak right now, prices are still similar to home. Lodging is perhaps cheaper.

Happy Birthday! I am traveling vicariously through you. Maybe someday I, too, will bicycle through this part of Europe.

Happy Birthday Kelly! Al and I are enjoying your journal and look forward to reading it every day. I was especially impressed with your one-day ascent of the Pyrenees. It was just about a year ago that we saw you and Jacinto on your way to Nelson from the Kootenay Lake ferry here in British Columbia. You guys do get around!

Kids are much more flexible - that was probably fine at the time.

They look like old sewing pattern packets.

Put a motor on it and I’m off to the Alps.

Ha! I had a bedroom something like this once when I was a kid. It went out onto a fire escape though. Would have preferred breakfast.

Italy is a special place! I think you will like it a lot.

Food I had there was quite good.

Our daughter spent 1 college year in Perugia, with her final 2 ending graduating in Rome. Quite the trip for us to go for the graduation (2006). She wanted to stay, but her student visa ended after graduation.

Cars tend to be smaller though.

I had quite a few canned tuna salads in Spain. I’ve even tried them at home. It’s a good way to get protein.
