All the best to you cyclists from Austria. We have wonderful warm weather at the moment and had our first swim of the season yesterday. BTW, is it a Wiener Schnitzel on the plate in the center?

Hi Mike, it´s a free site set up by a Swiss Engineering Office: http://geo.ebp.ch/gelaendeprofil/

As it is in German language some quick handling advice:
The site will open with two waypoints in Switzerland. Click the "Neu starten..." button to delete them. Then go to the right and set "Art der Route" auf Autoroute. Now put your start and finish point into the search box. You will get the normal google maps result (which you can alter by pulling the route) and below the altitude chart. I do screenshots (windows + print) and cut them with picasa. Done!

Frankie
What mapping software did you use to show the altitude profile?

Please say hello to Colleen and Chris from Singapore from us. We enjoyed meeting them and riding with them for two days from Chiang Dao to Arunothai and beyond, (straight north of Chiang Mai). Nice people.

These are a different type of coconuts I believe. We had them in Cambodia and as I remember they were like little gourmet coconuts, the meat of which is thin, soft and excellent flavor.

Indeed, Andrew. I guess the same situation like Bali or Mallorca i.e. The crowds that do give the bad reputation do concentrate on very few party zones but there are still genuines places round the corner. Maenam is not entirely untouched anymore but I didn´t have to wait for people to clear the beach. It still is a good place in my opinion

Looks like a nice spot. A far cry from chaweng!

I´d love to learn more about it having seen the passion these guys seem to have. And how do the judges judge? They are standing three meters away from 30 birds and and when the whistle goes frimly walk to some particular cage and mark. Amazing!

A friend who knows about these songbirds said he's seen 200k in baht change hands for a 'grand champion'
