Thank you for showing some Japan trip highlights. BTW--I am a jam fan.
3 months agoMaybe not quite as adventurous as your trip, but I just returned from a 3 week road trip from Denver to Cleveland and back. I almost felt like I was in Europe :):) Safe travels, you two!
3 months agoI am just astounded by your ability to adapt and make do no matter what vicissitudes of life are thrown your way. I guess when you commit to an adventure like this you have to. But impressive and inspiring none the less.

I'm really enjoying your blog this year! Happy riding!
3 months agoYou can fix anything with duct tape and cable ties but what is that device?
3 months agoHmm. Your "spartan" comments aren't what I'd expect of a 3-star hotel. Then I looked at what is required. Interesting! https://www.canaldumidi.bike/hotel-stars.html
3 months agoJust a warning n your train ride to Orthez. Be prepared when you get to Narbonne for the fact that its station does not have elevators. I think there's no choice but to go down and up through the underpass, so be sure you've targeted the correct platform.

3 months agoOf course we're interested in the details of train travel. They're the source of the best stories. Between you and the Grampies' nightmare yesterday it's made it really worth dipping into the journals these past two days. We have our own long journey (Pescara to Ventimiglia) coming up in a few days though, so this makes me start to feel anxious.
3 months agoYou made it, and it sounds like you’re sort of chuckling about it now. Inevitable hassles of touring but once you’re on the bikes more or less full time all will be sweet.

Not a cyclist, but I surely enjoy reading these blogs. Please keep cycling so we can all enjoy your adventures (and mishaps)!
