Those look like poisonous agaric mushrooms.

From my time in Germany, where I learned a bit about mushroom hunting, those look like what they called butterpilz.

Those are South American trumpet flowers. Pretty, but toxic.

Good spotting on the prices - I had to enlarge the photo to see. But hey, 160 krone is still 9 Canadian dollars!

Kind of like Venice, to get from point A to point B you have to pay attention to where the bridges are.

Love the frescoes on the walls.

I just about choked on the waffle prices until I remembered that the Czech Republic did not go over to the Euro! They look delicious and I would be working my way through the menu systematically.

Called a trudelneck, like turtleneck. They are a common street food treat in Prague also.

This looks like a storybook town. So perfectly preserved and clean. Love the "waffles" how unique. What a treat to be able to see this. Probably not somewhere most people visit. Proving once again that touring on a bicycle is a wonderful way to travel. Beautiful pictures and thanks for the history.

Yes riding in the Czech Republic is a challenge but we have loved it Some lovely little towns including the famous ones that you are in now but certainly not an area you can travel a great distance each day

I am sure the climbing is likely to be more frequent and more difficult now that you have left the Danube behind. I suspect Ron and Carol have triples on the Surly LHTs which probably helps them quite a bit. But I do not believe there is any shame in walking; as you say, better that than falling over.
