Fitz Roy must be one of the most photogenic peaks on the planet.

Wow, this looks more like a painting than a photo.

Thanks for your great Christmas video!
I have loved following you on your trip so far. All the best, and more tailwinds for 2023!

You have no idea how stressed out Leigh was. She was using software on my tablet that was very different from that on her PC and it was a steep learning curve with very little time to get the video done before Christmas.

Your food and drink looked scrumptious, well done from Cochrane shops. Your Christmas video was so good! We heard the song again today and all we can picture is you two singing along! Well done Leigh.

I think they may have underestimated things a bit. Their plans include lots of hiking and expect to be in El Chalten for New Year. They caught a lift to get to Nacho's place and I suspect they will have to catch a few more if they want to fit in all the things they have planned.

Too funny!! The Australian couple (Alban and Aliesha) we camped with at Puerto Gonzalo. They were still actually snoring when we left too!! I asked what time they planned on setting off and Alban said he just let these things happen! Anyway, lovely to know they got there OK. They had a tough day ahead when we left them. She was doing cheery but they had only been going two days and I worried it may not last.

Hi Rod. They are an introduced species(from the NW of N America) and are now considered to be a problem invasive plant. See https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lupinus_polyphyllus.

The lupins have been fabulous this trip but I keep wondering: are they native or invasive? Iceland has the same sort of effect, but they were introduced (to improve soil quality IIRC).

Thanks Elsp. We're having a rest day in Villa Manihuales catching up on laundry etc. It has been mostly dry roday and it looks like this wet spell might have run its course. I hope your guys route takes you past Volcan Orsono. It's worth seeing.

Great to see you didn't find the climb too bad. It must seem worse coming down with speed and steepness! Sunny here in Puerto Montt this morning but sure it won't last. Stay safe.
