Day 63: Maidstone to North Battleford

I was originally planning on putting in a longer day, but a strong headwind came up (24 gusting to 37 km/h according to Environment Canada) and I was battling for every metre. It was also quite hot and there seemed to be a thunderstorm brewing. Perhaps, I will be able to make it up later. It would be a nice ride to Saskatoon tomorrow where I could stay at the Gordie Howe campground and maybe even see a movie!

I stayed at the David Laird Campground ($15) just east of town. There were lots of people, it was a good price and a good location. It was a quick 5 minute ride to the shopping centre for supplies.

Wrote postcards to nieces and nephews today.

The Yellowhead Highway parallels the train tracks for long stretches.

I was surprised to see a level train crossing on the Yellowhead Highway.
