Day 6 - Yelco to Villa Santa Lucia - continued

This is a continuation from the previous post. It was taking forever to save and load.

It was great  to find a cabana that let us do laundry. My lululemon shirts are great to wash in the sink or shower, however nothing beats a real wash!

The sunshine dried shirts smell so great. Pretty scary when you get this excited to do laundry

So many places you see down here have these signs for volcano evacuation. Another reason I won’t complain about a snow storm.

So I guess you hope you can outrun lava ! reminds me of Hawaii. The big island where half the road is covered in lava

Bill ShaneyfeltNice thing about HI lava is you can easily outrun it! This stuff... maybe not.

What is great about traveling down here you find a restaurant where it is the peoples home. You ask for a menu and they say pork, chicken or salmon. You are sitting at their dinner table and they are so so so hospitable. Fresh homemade bread, cheese.

David and I had the salmon, delicious the chicken is probably the sister of one that crossed the street on the way. We heard roosters so I’m sure we will have an early wake up call

Not everyday do you see sheep in the back of a truck

Very poor town, however all the people are ultra nice. Everyone says Ola and has a smile on their face. You won’t see that in downtown Toronto.

A great day. We didn’t ride too far which meant we stopped and smelled the roses, and isn’t that what life is all about !

Tomorrow wild camping ! So no internet, hydro and real toilets. Phone charged to get some great shots.

Summary on tips, smile, learn to speak Spanish, help fellow bikers, make new friends, and wear sunscreen! My nose is starting to peel and feel normal !

Today's ride: 25 km (16 miles)
Total: 498 km (309 miles)

Pete HewettGreat ride downhill. Scenery is amazing and your meal was like a good restaurant. Peter, can you put the pet bugs on a leash?
