Travel day: Whitefish to Seattle

Just your average tourist

We finally got to play tourists in Whitefish. I think we visited every park and shop in town. Being a summer weekend, it was bustling with people. Our train was almost two hours late, and we were very glad when we finally boarded. We brought our sleeping bags with us this time. It was a great help. I finally got some sleep on the train! They "made up some time" -- in other words, the schedule was well-padded -- and we arrived at King Street Station at about 11:15am. We loaded up quickly, cycled home, and found ourselves back in the flow of everyday life very quickly.

In all I would say that the tour worked out very well. I enjoyed the variety we packed into this fairly short trip. We were able to visit places of great natural beauty outside Washington without having to fly or drive. Some day we may ride the Northern Tier and experience some of this terrain all over again.

Hard to believe this isn't Seattle
