Day 8 Paris, IL

I'm running out of things to say about corn and beans!  Our ride today was more of the same - miles and miles of farms and fields and grain elevators and  a few tiny towns.  We did go through Montezuma, IN and since our bike was born in Montezuma, KS it seemed like we should get a family picture there. Unfortunately, Montezuma, IN does not appear to be as prosperous as Montezuma, KS.

Just a few miles down the road from Montezuma, we came to Dana, IN, the home of the famous WWII correspondent Ernie Pyle.  We stopped at the Ernie Pyle roadside park that had a memorial to him.  There is also a museum, but it is only open on the weekends, so we did  not get to go there.

We crossed from Indiana into Illinois today.  We didn't mark the new state with a picture of the state welcome sign, but with a picture of this, which was really welcome!

Welcome to Illinois - the rumble strip ends!
