Waterside ride from Rovinj to Fazana

lol
After breakfast we mounted our bikes and rode off on the promenade along the shoreline. Today was mostly a gravel ride, some of it quite rocky, some big potholes and a few places with large rocky gravel. Lots of time spent watching the surface of the road or path to make sure you were picking the best route. Although we had to watch the road we did spend a lot of time riding along the beautiful Croatian coastline, azure blue water, white rocks and lots of green vegetation. Along the way, we stopped off to see a ruined fort built in the late 1800s. Then we met the Adela Lora in Fazana and headed for our next port, Rabac.

Ready to get to the bikes

We visited a ruined fort built in the late 1800s by the Austro Hungarian Empire as part of a four fort fortification of the area. The fort was bombed in the First World War and so is a ruin. It is huge!

We made it to the port in Fazana while the Andela Loria was hanging out waiting for the ferry to leave the dock so she could tie up. We only had a short time to board and get all of the bikes on board once the ferry left.

The ferry is still in port boarding passengers

Once she docked we helped load the bikes on the boat to get them put away efficiently.

This is the map of where we have been. The light red dotted lines are where we have gone on the boat. The dark red lines represent where the boat has gone while we are riding. The red lines on the land represent our riding routes but I think some are missing….

On the way we had a swim stop, we got to dive in off the back of the boat and enjoy the crystal clear waters
