Days 25 & 26, Rockwood, PA to Connellsville, PA to Pittsburgh

Hostell, Hiker Biker Campsite, Holiday Inn Express

It's been very warm this week and I tried to get started early each morning. The morning of the Thursday, June 26 after sleeping in my tent in an adirondack at a free hiker/biker campground in Connellsville, I was ready to go at 7:35 and rode my bike to a Martins super market 100 yds away .... and got a puncture in my tire. It took me a while to figure out why the tire went flat so .... an hour and a half later. I started out. 58 miles later, I checked into the Holiday Inn Express in Pittsburgh at 4:45 pm.

These are, left to right, Bob, Kevin, Ted and Frank. Ted and Frank are being silly since we joked about them being a couple. We met them yesterday just outside of Cumberland, but I rode with on shuttle bus around a washed out bike path just beyond Rockwood.

This is the confluence of the Casselman River, middle, and the Youghiogheny River becoming the latter. Just try to pronounce that one. Hint: accent us in the first syllable. This was at the town of ... Confluence

This trail is part of the West Pennsylvania Bike Route, S. Jonathan and I follow that route in east PA.

This was the only picture I took today. Guess what the name of this fall is.
