Day 35, Columbus, OH to Dayton, OH

Nice steady ride with frequent breaks on level trails most of the way

The ride today was more about meeting up with other cyclists.  Three times, today, I  had riders ease up beside me rather than pass in order to ask about where I was going and where I started, etc.  John and Krista were a couple who did this.  I stopped to rest one place and met up with a young man just graduated from college who is planning to ride to Mexico City before he starts his Career as a lawyer or go into the trades.

The last person, I met was headed in the opposite direction and hollered at me to stop, so I did.  His name is Phil Henrickson.  I had ridden across the country many times and in many directions.  He's 78 year-old guy who was very instrumental in the creation of the trail we we were riding on.  Western Ohio is a model for their Bike trail system.  This guy has a Youtube video about why I ride.

Trails are now in the flat lands of western Ohio. A few wooded areas and a lot of corn and bean fields.

Bill ShaneyfeltYeah, I know Phil! We stop and chat every now and then on the bike path, generally on Creekside between Dayton and Beavercreek.
