I decided that, since I'm in the flat lands, mostly, and on trails, mostly, I should up my miles. ....rode 59 miles and gave myself a birthday present of staying in a Red Roof Inn in Columbus, rather than camping at a hiker/biker campground a few mile down the trail.

More later, I've got a Warm Showers Host lined up for tomorrow in Dayton, but I need to see about two days out.  I'll come back to this entry later.

Trail was throught the forests sometimes.

That's the camera that is tilted, not the thing. That was the summit of the trail. 1% grade for about 8 miles, and now it's -1%. I'll take either after doing double digit grades. Dan and Lisa passed me going up complaining about the climb. Lisa was not complaining cuz she was on an ebike. Later on in the day. They passed me a again and appologized since I was carrying bags and they had none.

I made several new friends today.  They were mostly fellow cyclists.  Most were locals getting out on a holiday and getting away from parades and such.

I, however did get stuck in a parade when I was looking for a coffee shop.  ... shop not open, and the street I wanted was the parade route.  The parade Nazi lady yelled at me to get off he route, and a nice woman showed me how to get back on the trail.  The Nazi Lady was just doing her job.

Today's ride: 59 miles (95 km)
Total: 1,508 miles (2,427 km)

Bill ShaneyfeltA shame I'm out of town for a while... I live only a mile and a half from Creekside trail, which you will take from Xenia to Dayton. If I was home, I would try to meet up and ride a few miles with you, as I have done with several bike touring folks over the years. The Air Force Museum is not far off the bike path, and if you have lots and lots of time, it is a great place! And it is free!!
